What's it?


With ID-DOC you search by

shape of tool

  1. Looking through the Morphological Units (MU) you decide whether your unidentified object has the general shape of an axe, a saw, .... and click on the corresponding MU.
  2. You look through the pictures of different objects in a particular MU. To enlarge a picture, simply click anywhere in the picture frame.
  3. You find the picture you were looking for. Click on the name underneath it and you have the type description of this specific object.

  • You want more information on a specific name. Click on it to get a description.
  • You want more information on a specific name in another language. Switch to the Dutch or the French screen en click on the word you want.
Within any type description you can also click on the "nederlands" or the "français" hyperlink at the bottom of the page to get a translation.

profession (craftsman, ...)

  • Click on the profession you're looking for and you will get a list of its tools. For easy reference, each tooltype is depicted with a single drawing of only one model.
  • By opening each tool description separately, you can get an overview of all the models.
