ID-DOC on line!

We recently added a new member to the MOT-family. It took us even more than the usual nine months to get this new sprout on the net and no doubt this will be followed by a few more months of testing and updating.

ID-DOC is a search tool that wants to help researchers identify unknown technical objects.

What kind of tool is this? What's its name? Where can I find out more about it? Those are probably the first three questions anyone (amateur or specialist) asks himself when being confronted with an unknown object.

The shape of the object is often the only lead you have to find out more about it. There are virtually no means to systematically help you identify the object.

That is why the Museum of Old Techniques (with the funding of the province of Flemish-Brabant) decided to investigate the possibilities of an Identification Document (ID-DOC). This site shows you the preliminary results.

Any comments or suggestions? Please send them to Johan David (info@mot.be)
