description

The blacksmith or wheelwright uses the tyre lifter to remove the glowing iron (wheel)band from the fire to place it on the rims. Afterwards, the tyre is pulled onto the rims of a wheel with the sledgehammer and the tyring dog

This hook-shaped tool is also used by the millwright when covering the millstone with iron hoops.

Smaller wheel tyres are removed from the fire with smith's tongs

Some models look very similar to the scroll wrench. [MOT]
