description

Vegetable slicing tongs are aluminum tongs used to clamp cooked food in order to cut it into equal pieces with a kitchen knife. They serve a similar function to carving tongs used to cut a piece of roast. Both jaws are bent at the ends to allow the tongs to rest on a work surface while slicing.

They can be used to cut various vegetables such as tomatoes and onions (see the vegetable chopper, onion fork and tomato slicer), an egg (see the egg slicer and egg tongs), fruit, potatoes, etc., into equal pieces.
